mosaic pendants
Emily Bhargava, based in Somerville, MA, works in mosaic, stained glass and steel, and also incorporates a wide variety of upcycled materials and found objects into her work. She transforms blank walls and empty spaces into colorful, quirky and playful designs that inspire reflection, learning and community ownership. Her one-of-a-kind mosaic pendants use everyday objects and common materials to create striking and stylish pieces. Many of these tiny works of art explore concerns in her life or celebrate the treasures that she comes across daily.
Emily often works at the intersection of art and public health, helping communities utilize the arts as an effective tool for health promotion. She currently serves as the Community Art Director for The Beautiful Stuff Project, a creative reuse center based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she helps to upcycle materials on a large scale and bring creative play into schools and community spaces. She also serves as the co-chair of the programming committee of the New England Mosaic Society, https://www.newenglandmosaicsociety.com.
Emily is happy to create custom mosaics as gifts or for your home. Explore her work in more depth at www.glassandlead.com and www.connectionlab.org, or see what she’s up to right now on Instagram @studio_b63 and @studio_b_pendants.
